SUBSTITUTES(I will keep updating this, mail me if you find something in my recipes that you absolutely cannot find)

Alcohol substitutes: Find here

Buttermilk: 1 cup = 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar (set aside covered for 15 minutes)

Cake Flour: 1 cup = 3/4 cup all purpose flour + 2 tbsp cornstarch

Mascarpone Cheese: 8 oz pack of Philadelphia Cream Cheese + 3 tbsp Whipping Cream + 2 tbsp Yoghurt mixed with 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Savoiardi: Plain vanilla sponge cake cut in 1 inch strips

Sour Cream: 1 cup regular cream + 3 heaped tsp of yoghurt + 1.5 tsp lemon juice (mix and put aside for 30-60 minutes room temp)

    Is the vinegar used in Buttermilk the regular synthetic vinegar we use at home for Chinese food?

      Yes it is, regular white vinegar.
